WE ARE COVENTRY TALES
We welcome you to Coventry Tales.
Come and be part of a community that celebrates the power of stories and storytelling.
It all started in a pub.
Catching up with friends, we started talking about the fact that there were so many crime events around but none of them were ever held in Coventry. We decided it would be fun to get together for a quick drink and see what happened.
And then, we had another drink. And another one after that. And before we knew it, we were standing on the street corner with our phones out, trying to figure out where to host our first event! It was all very spontaneous—and very exciting!
So we settled on Coventry Tales—a name that sounds just as good as the stories that come out of our speakers’ mouths. It was June 2022 when we held our first ever Coventry Tales event—and boy did it go well! Feedback was fantastic, food was delicious and the speakers blew us all away!
We’re always looking for new places to hold events too – if you have any suggestions let us know!
ABOUT THE VENUE

The Golden Cross is the oldest pub in Coventry (One of the oldest in The Midlands). Built circa 1583, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1st and established as a public house circa 1661, during the reign of Charles II (The year of his coronation).
The Golden Cross boasts traditional Tudor features which include: jettied upper floors with exposed beams, the pub also features a Dragon Beam which makes it possible for the jettied floors to go around the corners.
These historic features alone makes it worthwhile visiting the Golden Cross.
Please note: the venue is not the event organiser.
